Common questions
FAQ
Do you provide overnight care?
Overnight and extended-hour care may be arranged based on caregiver availability and an individualized plan outlining safety needs, rest periods, and caregiver responsibilities. During your assessment, please share the nights and hours you need so we can provide clear and honest information about availability and start time.
Can caregivers help with transportation?
Errands, shopping, and transportation or accompaniment to appointments may be included in Daily Support when authorized in the client’s care plan. Vehicle arrangements, approved drivers, mileage limits, and any related costs will be confirmed in advance. Clients enrolled in Ohio’s PASSPORT program may be exempt from certain charges; however, transportation and driving services must be specifically authorized and comply with all applicable program requirements.
How quickly can care start?
Once the assessment is completed and the care plan is approved, services can often begin within a few days, depending on caregiver availability. We prioritize urgent needs whenever we can safely provide appropriate staffing.
What happens if a regular caregiver calls off?
If your regular caregiver is unavailable, we make every effort to provide a qualified backup caregiver who is familiar with the care plan. If we cannot safely cover the visit, we will contact you promptly. Continuity and clear communication matter—we do not leave families wondering what comes next.
Is there a minimum number of hours?
Most visits are scheduled in five-hour blocks, allowing caregivers enough time to complete personal care, meal support, and household tasks without rushing. During your free assessment, we will work with you to determine the schedule that best meets your needs.
How does pricing and payment work?
Rates vary based on the type of support required, the length of each visit, and the number of days needed each week. During your free, no-obligation home assessment, we will review all costs so you know what to expect before services begin. Private pay is common, and we can also discuss other available payment options.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please provide as much notice as possible if a scheduled visit needs to be changed or canceled. We generally request at least 24 hours’ notice when possible so we can adjust the caregiver’s schedule. We understand that unexpected situations occur, so last-minute changes will be handled individually. Call us as soon as possible, and we will work with you.
How do you match a caregiver with our family?
We begin by learning about your routines, preferences, language, personality, and safety needs. We then select a caregiver whose experience, skills, and approach are well suited to your home. Caregiver matching is an important part of the care plan, and we will make adjustments if the match does not feel right.
